Course Description
This comprehensive course teaches the skills of CPR/AED and First Aid in a single class for teachers ONLY. It is designed for non-medical professionals or laypersons to participate in the resuscitation of children in schools K-12 grade ONLY. This class covers children K-12 grades covering CPR, CPR with a face mask, and foreign body airway obstruction. This course exposes students to the basics of first aid care from the most common injuries and medical emergencies. The use of an AED is also covered. The Heartsaver First Aid course for K-12 grade is perfect for anyone wanting to be certified in the basic skills of saving a child’s life.
The Heartsaver First Aid course meets certification requirements for school teachers and anyone else that is required to have this type of certification as a condition of employment.
Course Prerequisite
Wear loose comfortable clothing to class. Students will be practicing skills that require them to work on their hands and knees.
Course Accreditation
This course is accredited by the American Heart Association and follows the AHA curriculum. Certification cards for this course are valid for 2 years.
Course Length
Course length averages about 2-3 hours depending on the size of the class. Students arriving more than 15 minutes after the course has begun will not be permitted to take the course.
Registration
The course fee is $28.00. Registration occurs upon receipt of payment. Confirmed registrants will receive a receipt via e-mail. Please keep the receipt for your records. Scheduling and dates are subject to change.
Cancellation/Refunds
NO refund will be issued to cancellations needed, just reschedules. A $25 rescheduling fee will be assessed and only 1 rescheduled class is allowed within 30 days of the original course date. Rescheduled classes are non-refundable. NO refund or rescheduling for NO-SHOWS. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late of class start time will be considered no shows.
